Frose’

This is a perfect afternoon, slightly boozy, cooling drink. You can make it with any berry available or even try it with a melon. I don’t add sugar to the berries, but if you like things a bit on the sweet side you can add sugar to the berries as you blend them. The berry cubes can also be used in other things like smoothies or in a sangria, they are nice to have in the freezer. The frose' is a perfect drink poolside or chilling in the backyard.

For berry base: (makes about 2 ice cube trays)

1 1/2 pound berries (I use a mix of strawberries and raspberries)

1/2 cup sugar

ice trays

To make berry ice cubes:

Wash berries and trim. Add to blender, blend until smooth. If you don’t mind seeds, pour directly into ice trays. I prefer sieving out the seeds. Use a fine mesh sieve and pour berry mixture into sieve with bowl underneath. It will be thick, so use a rubber spatula and push the juice through. This may have to be done in a few batches. Add to ice trays and freeze 4-6 hours.

For 1 frose'

4 berry cubes

1/2 cup dry rose'

Blend cubes and rose’ together. Pour into glass and serve with a flower herb of choice (mint, verbena, basil). You can also add a floater on top of Prosecco or tequila or a little extra rose’. Enjoy!!!
